Job Description

In the role of Public Works Supervisor (Site Leader), the successful candidate will lead the planning, execution, and completion of public works activities related to water distribution and sewer collection systems. Develop and implement creative, practical solutions to overcome operation and maintenance related issues and drive successful outcomes. Foster a collaborative team environment by leveraging strong emotional intelligence and building positive relationships within the project team.

Requirements

  • A degree related to water and wastewater (Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field) is strongly preferred but not required
  • 6 years of experience in water and wastewater operations
  • 3 years of leadership experience
  • Skilled in effective supervision, training, and personnel management
  • Demonstrated leadership, motivation, and team-building abilities
  • Proficient in conflict resolution
  • General understanding of project management and contract administration
  • Understands principles and practices of water/wastewater distribution/collection systems
  • Understanding of water/wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance
  • Knowledge of analytical methods for water quality analysis and data interpretation
  • Familiar with regulatory compliance reporting
  • Knowledgeable of relevant local, state, and federal rules, regulations, and laws applicable to water/wastewater operations
  • Familiarity with budgeting procedures, monitoring, and analysis
