Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Public Staff Tax Accountant to join our team in Tulsa, Oklahoma on a Contract-to-Permanent basis. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to manage tax preparation and filing for individuals and corporations while ensuring compliance with current regulations. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative office environment with a dedicated team of professionals.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns with a high level of accuracy
Utilize tax software such as LaCerte and CCH ProSystem Fx to streamline processes and ensure compliance
Conduct in-depth tax research to address complex issues and provide solutions
Collaborate with team members to manage workloads during peak tax seasons, including overtime hours
Maintain detailed records and documentation to support tax filings and audits
Assist with bookkeeping and accounting services as needed within the organization
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure timely and accurate compliance
Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data and prepare reports
Provide excellent client service and address inquiries related to tax matters
Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements in the tax department

Requirements:

Proven experience in individual and corporate tax preparation
Proficiency in tax software such as LaCerte, QuickBooks, and CCH ProSystem Fx
Advanced knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting
Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations
Ability to work extended hours during tax season and manage multiple priorities
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and client interaction
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
