Job Description:

A Public Staff Accountant is responsible for providing a wide range of accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting services to clients across various industries. They work under the supervision of senior accountants and managers to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with tax laws, and effective financial management. This role is integral to supporting both client business operations and internal organizational functions, ensuring timely and accurate financial processes.

Client Account Reconciliation
Audit Assistance
Tax Preparation and Filing
Client Support and Consultation
General Ledger Management
Financial Analysis
Compliance and Regulatory Reporting
Payroll Processing and Reporting
Special Projects

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA or CPA candidate preferred
1-3 years of experience in public accounting or relevant field
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and tax preparation software)
Analytical skills with attention to detail
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple clients and meet deadlines under pressure
Experience with audit procedures and tax preparation for both individual and corporate clients
Familiarity with various accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Knowledge of current federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements
