We are looking for an experienced Procurement, Contract and Records Management Specialist to join our client’s team in Guelph for a 19-month maternity leave coverage. This isn't a role for a specialist in a silo; it’s a position for a versatile generalist who enjoys the day-to-day variety of public sector operations. You will serve as a subject matter expert, ensuring that vital programs are supported by transparent, compliant, and efficient procurement practices. If you are ready to hit the ground running in an environment where your work directly impacts the provincial community, we want to meet you

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the end-to-end RFX process, including document preparation, evaluation coordination, and vendor debriefings
  • Ensure all sourcing and purchasing activities strictly adhere to the Ontario Public Service (OPS) Procurement Directive
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for the organization’s records management and retention program
  • Consult with internal clients to refine specifications and deliverables for goods and services
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, overseeing contract performance and technical delivery
  • Review and analyze client scopes of work to source vendors and coordinate high-value approval processes

Requirements:

  • Essential experience within a crown agency, municipality, or BPS organization, such as colleges or universities
  • In-depth understanding of the OPS Procurement Directive and recent changes in Ontario legislation
  • A degree or diploma in business or public administration, or 2–4 years of related public sector experience
  • High proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Pro, and SAP Concur
  • The ability to navigate bureaucratic requirements with patience and exceptional customer service skills
  • Committed to working full-time in the Guelph office five days a week
What we offer:
  • Secure a 19-month position with an expected end date in December 2027
  • Work a standard 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (or 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM) Monday through Friday
  • Help manage public funds with care and integrity for a provincial agency
  • Lead the RFX process from initial scope development through to vendor debriefings
  • Join a small, supportive team where communication is streamlined via Teams and email
  • Hourly rate of $37+
