The Public Relations Officer is responsible for providing cost‑effective PR support to the business by handling all government‑related processes and ensuring the company’s interests are represented with relevant authorities. The role ensures smooth and compliant handling of statutory requirements for both employees and the company.
Job Responsibility:
Handle all government‑related processes, including obtaining certificates and renewals, managing company registrations, and maintaining government portals
Manage visa‑related procedures such as applications, issuance, cancellations, and guiding employees on documentation and timelines
Liaise with Immigration, Labour Departments, Quasi‑Government entities, Port Authorities, Embassies, and other relevant bodies to ensure smooth and compliant operations
Process and maintain company legal documents, including Trade Licenses, endorsements, Chamber of Commerce documents, and other required paperwork
Track, reconcile, and submit accurate PR‑related expense reports in line with company policy
Represent Smit Lamnalco in Labour cases and complete statutory formalities as required
Provide regular updates to HR and Operations on political, government, or regulatory changes affecting the company
Requirements:
Secondary vocational education or equivalent qualification
4 to 6 years of relevant Public Relations/Government Relations experience, preferably within the maritime industry
Strong understanding of UAE labour, immigration, and commercial regulatory frameworks
Excellent relationship‑building skills with government stakeholders and external agencies
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Arabic is a must
Ability to represent the company professionally in government settings
Willingness to be based in the U.A.E.
Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required
