The role focuses on managing public relations and media communication for IKEA, ensuring brand promotion and protection through effective strategies, stakeholder engagement, and proactive communication methodologies. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, handling crisis communication, driving brand awareness, coaching spokespersons, staying updated on media trends, and supporting business objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Enable INGKA to promote and protect the IKEA brand through effective media and stakeholder relations
Lead the country PR/Media Relations of Ingka
Lead and ensure the implementation of the strategy for product and corporate PR and Media relations
Secure media relations as an integrated part of campaigns
Drive proactive and activist communication externally through media and strategic influencer relationships
Create media/stakeholder engagement strategies
Develop and implement processes for country on-duty phone and product loans
Drive brand awareness through targeted media use
Co-lead events and brand activation initiatives
Stay up-to-date on current affairs to position stories
Empower IKEA leaders to be inspiring communicators
Develop and strengthen communication preparedness for reputational issues and crises
Act on negative publicity and reputational risks
Be a communication business partner for Market Support
Build a deep understanding of Market Support objectives to tie communication work to business outcomes.
Requirements:
Proven advanced training in strategic integrated communications or equivalent
Minimum of 8-10 years of both external and internal communication experience
Proven experience in managing and leveraging media contacts
Experience working with various business stakeholders, strategic campaign leading and agencies management
Experience with leading in change
Experience with crisis communication
Strong and distinct communications measurement
Preferred: Knowledge of the IKEA brand, culture, values and way of working
Strong communication skills in English
Deep knowledge of working in the field of media relations, including crisis communications and branding
Rich knowledge of using insights to formulate country communication strategies, plans and activities
Deep knowledge of how to lead communication by defining, planning, executing and follow-up communication
Up-to-date knowledge of the complete media landscape
Understanding of the process for delivering efficient communication and stakeholder plans, tools and IKEA communication channels
Passionate about driving conversations around Life at Home, contribution to society, communication & modern digital retailing trends
Creatively driven and always looking for new ways to drive corporate and consumer communications
Affinity with creating engaging communication and working with media relations and stakeholder management
Energized by working independently and interdependently with communication network and cross functions.
