The Martin Group, a premier integrated communications firm headquartered in Buffalo, NY is looking to hire a Public Relations Coordinator in our Buffalo or Albany location. You will be responsible for supporting the Public Relations Team (PR Team) in the delivery of PR services to clients. You will assist in developing creative ideas to help clients meet objectives and maintain a favorable image.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supports the Public Relations team in the delivery of PR services to clients
  • Conducts research for optimal targets and contacts for client campaigns
  • Assists in drafting, editing and distributing press releases, media advisories, scripts, speeches, talking points, blog content, social media postings, advertising copy, and other internal/external public relations content
  • Assists in developing creative ideas based on input from more senior members of the PR team, clients, and personal research
  • Attends networking and media events, as well as meetings with clients, suppliers and partner organizations
  • Conducts media monitoring and clips tracking
  • Builds and maintains news media, influencer and social media contact lists
  • Monitors media coverage and digital and social media engagement
  • Creates and updates media lists and distribution lists

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Creative Writing, Communications, Journalism, Political Science, or Business or equivalent work experience required
  • 2 years of proven writing or editing experience
