The Public Relations & Communications Specialist provides flexible support as needed to the Strategic Communications Director and the Communications team. This role is focused primarily on writing across multiple formats, helping tell Beebe's story through patient narratives, feature articles, web content, and internal and external communications. The Specialist assists with media relations tasks as assigned, supports physician onboarding content, and contributes to messaging for events and organizational initiatives. This is a supportive, project-based role with responsibilities that shift based on departmental needs. The ideal candidate is a strong writer who is proactive, organized, and comfortable working under tight deadlines.
Job Responsibility:
Draft and edit content such as press releases, feature stories, patient stories, provider announcements, and other written materials as assigned
Write and update content for Beebe's external websites, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with organizational messaging
Support physician onboarding through the development of bios, announcements, and online profiles
Assist with internal and external event communications, executive messaging, and talking points as assigned
Contribute to print and digital publications by writing, editing, and supporting content development as needed
Support media inquiries when delegated, including gathering information and coordinating with appropriate subject matter experts
Assist with logistics for interviews or story development as assigned
Help ensure timely and accurate follow-up when supporting an active media request
Assist with communications needs for organizational events such as ribbon cuttings, open houses, and community programs
Provide support for presentation materials, including updates to PowerPoint decks or event-related collateral
Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and creative discussions as assigned
Maintain organized content and reference materials on the departments shared drive
Complete duties as assigned in support of the Strategic Communications Manager and Communications team
Assist with special projects related to writing, messaging, and communications support as needed
Requirements:
Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to produce clear, engaging content in multiple formats and on deadline
1- 3 years of experience in public relations, communications, or writing preferred
relevant internship or freelance experience acceptable for this part time role
Ability to manage multiple assignments, work independently, and adapt to changing priorities
Comfort collaborating with physicians, leaders, and subject matter experts
Experience with website content management systems preferred
Valid driver's license with no more than three moving violations
