Job Description:

This is a high-impact, highly visible Public Policy Project Manager role, focused on short-term rental (STR) regulatory compliance and implementation across France. Reporting to the Public Policy, Compliance & Partnerships Programme Manager, you will play a critical role in project-managing complex regulatory and policy initiatives that directly affect Airbnb’s platform, hosts, and listings across France. This work is closely monitored by senior EMEA leadership and has real, tangible business and policy impact. More precisely, you will work on a broad range of regulatory compliance and partnership initiatives, including European STR regulation, data-sharing obligations, registration and capping requirements, Airbnb's City and Data Portals, and tourism tax discussions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Monitor relevant news sources related to the ongoing regulatory discussions and key local markets overseen by the team, and suggest actions in line with the latest developments
  • Demonstrates strong ownership and a keen ability to assess risk, enabling effective prioritisation of the most impactful strategic projects
  • Advise Airbnb’s teams on public policy matters to guide development of compliance products and content
  • Manage the operational implementation of national and local policy proposals and legislative measures, working with colleagues in a wide range of internal teams such as Legal, Comms, Sales, Community and Product
  • Act as Airbnb’s representative in meetings with government and political stakeholders, in coalitions and collaborations to advance and communicate Airbnb’s advocacy and compliance initiatives
  • Support the management of external consultants who provide on-the-ground support, ensuring that they are properly briefed and that they meet deadlines and provide us with sufficient value

Requirements:

  • At least five years of project-management experience working with political, regulatory or compliance issues in a relevant business or non-governmental organization, or in a political, governmental or regulatory context
  • Experience of managing regulatory or compliance projects with multiple internal stakeholders
  • Highly organised and able to stay on top of multiple projects simultaneously
  • An eye for detail - with an ability to very quickly get up to speed on complex technical and regulatory issues
  • Eagerness to work in a multi-task environment while producing the highest caliber output in a timely manner
  • Proven ability to establish networks with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communicator with great interpersonal, writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as on cross-functional projects, displaying a true team spirit
  • Candidates must speak fluent French and English
