Job Description

Buckinghamshire Council is looking for a Public Health Principal to join the Public Health team. The Public Health Principal for tobacco control and cardiovascular disease will be responsible for providing expert leadership to strengthen the governance and pace of delivery of an ambitious prevention agenda. Working with a dynamic team, this role will lead the delivery of county‑wide tobacco control and smoking grant programmes, NHS Health Checks, and wider CVD prevention initiatives, working closely with system partners across the local authority, NHS and Integrated Care Board.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide expert leadership to strengthen the governance and pace of delivery of an ambitious prevention agenda

Requirements

  • Substantial experience of programme/project management
  • evidence of achieving results and delivery
  • good knowledge of local government and/or the NHS
  • experience of commissioning public health programmes, particularly relating to tobacco control and/or cardiovascular disease prevention
  • experience of strategic leadership in public health
