As part of our commitment to develop the Public Health workforce, Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) is looking to recruit a Public Health Practitioner Degree Apprentice who is self-motivated, organised, and passionate about developing a career in public health. This is a 3-year full time degree apprenticeship training programme. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice will achieve a BSc(Hons) Public Health degree (Level 6) and be eligible to apply to join the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) as a Public Health Practitioner. You would be joining the Public Health and Communities Hub. We are a team who are committed to making a difference to the health and wellbeing of residents, and places and communities, to enable people to live healthy lives and reduce inequalities. You will work flexibly under the direction of senior colleagues to develop and support a range of projects and programmes, work collaboratively with internal and external partners, and engage with communities to enable you to achieve the competencies needed to undertake the degree. 80% of your time will involve on-the-job training where you will work flexibly as part of a team, supporting Public Health Consultants, Heads of Portfolios and Public Health Managers to improve health outcomes for the Gloucestershire population.
