Job Description:

The Public Cloud Engineer will implement cloud architecture (on AWS, GCP and Azure) that enables the infrastructure required for application hosting in public cloud using Citi's engineering processes and best practices, with particular emphasis on automation and security by design. The role requires engaging with application developers throughout the full development life-cycle from inception and design to deployment, operation, and iterative development.

Job Responsibility:

Leads the working backwards documents for a platform product release
Uses or commissions research, studies and focus groups to identify best-of-breed benchmarks
Identifies innovations and leads test and learn experiments to create platform products
Defines and measures the KPIs for a platform product
Makes trade-off decisions on multiple platform products in a portfolio
Develops business and platform requirements
Leverages tools such as Ignite for reusability of APIs and platform services
Determines release goals
Identifies best practices for continuous product development improvement
Defines and leads new product constructs
Implements cloud architecture on AWS, GCP and Azure
Creates foundational infrastructure for public cloud using automation tools
Designs and creates tests for infrastructure deployment using Terratest
Works with pipeline team to ensure end to end automation of deployment
Ensures compliance with regulations and policy
Implements cloud network services
Develops, shares and enforces engineering best practices
Provides technical leadership in the design of complex cloud systems
Develops and advocates for cloud native solutions
Drives client satisfaction by identifying and developing product and process improvement

Requirements:

10+ years of relevant experience in product line management, e-commerce, and/or strategic planning
Significant experience building complex business and/or transactional models
Experience delivering high quality technology products/services in a high growth environment
Ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
Undergraduate degree in related field or equivalent experience
Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure as code tools
Hands-on experience developing software using languages such as Golang, Java, Kotlin, Python, C++ or Ruby
Familiarity with Domain Driven Design and Event Driven Architecture
Experience working in a distributed, containerized cloud-based environment using Azure/AWS/GCP
Experience with Service Oriented Architecture applications and cloud-based services
Experience with modern SDLC tools, branching strategies, and ability to develop and enforce CI/CD practices
Experience working with Linux/UNIX and Docker

Nice to have:

Experience as an AWS, GCP or Azure Solutions Architect
Other cloud-related certifications
Cloud security certification
Experience with Kubernetes
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Harness or Jenkins
Experience with TDD and automated testing frameworks
Experience working with any design frameworks
Developer level operations proficiency, particularly cloud networking
