The Public Area Attendant is responsible for performing a combination of tasks which maintains the hotel’s cleanliness in a clean and orderly manner. The Public Area Attendant is thereby contributing to a pleasant and positive guest experience that will meet established standards of the Fairmont Orchid Hawaii.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain hotel’s cleanliness in a clean and orderly manner
“Own” lobby and/or public area assigned, on a regular schedule, cleaning, spot sweeping, carpet dusting when necessary, keeping glass doors, mirrors free of fingerprints, and elevators regularly
Take initiative to add a personalized experience for the guest
Work effectively and contribute positively to a team
Maintain all public restrooms, insuring proper cleanliness and supplies
Clean all mirrors and glasses
inside of windows
all vents in assigned areas stock all paper supplies in restrooms and storage closets
wipe, clean all marble and tables and dust all surfaces
Vacuum carpets including rugs on service landing when needed or applicable
Report damage or malfunction in hotel rooms/areas
Respond professionally, politely, and efficiently to requests from guests
Maintain equipment in a proper state of cleanliness
Use hands to lift, carry, or pull objects that may be heavy
Maintain excellent grooming and uniform standards
Read, understand and follow all department policies
Requirements:
Warm and caring personality
previous housekeeping experience is an asset
Basic understanding of the English language
Ability to anticipate and focus attention on guest needs by being professional and welcoming
Lifting requirements up to 25 lbs.
Carrying of objects weighting up to 50lbs.
Excellent organizational skills and time management
