Make a real difference to young lives as a Psychotherapist in a values-led organisation. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychotherapist to deliver high-quality therapeutic support to children and young people aged 8-17 with SEMH needs, trauma histories, communication difficulties, and neurodiversity. The role involves working across schools and residential settings within the Coventry to Wiltshire region, contributing to a psychologically informed environment and supporting positive, long-term outcomes for young people.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver individual and group psychotherapy sessions tailored to developmental needs
Complete assessments, formulations, and therapeutic care plans
Apply evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches
Support young people with attachment difficulties, emotional regulation, and neurodiversity
Work closely with education staff, residential teams, families, and external professionals
Contribute to care reviews, meetings, and reports
Provide consultation, guidance, and reflective practice to staff teams
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records
Identify, manage, and escalate safeguarding and risk concerns appropriately
Work within ethical frameworks, professional standards, and organisational policies
Support the development of therapeutic practice across services
Contribute to outcome monitoring and service evaluation
Promote a psychologically informed and trauma-aware culture
Requirements:
Recognised qualification in Psychotherapy (Child & Adolescent or equivalent)
Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. UKCP, BACP, HCPC)
Experience working with children and young people aged 8-17
Strong knowledge of SEMH, trauma-informed practice, and safeguarding
Ability to travel across Coventry to Wiltshire
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
Nice to have:
Experience within residential care and/or educational settings
Knowledge of autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental needs
Experience delivering staff consultation or reflective practice
Confident multi-agency working (education, social care, health)
