This is a rare opportunity for a dedicated Psychology Specialist to join a high-performing faculty on a part-time basis (3 days in a week). Specifically targeting Key Stage 5, the successful candidate will lead A-Level students through the complexities of the AQA or OCR specifications (as applicable). You will be responsible for fostering a deep analytical culture, preparing students for the rigors of university-level study while providing the pastoral support necessary for Year 12 and 13 transitions.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver high-quality A-Level lessons that challenge and inspire KS5 learners
Plan and resource schemes of work that cater to a wide range of academic abilities
Conduct regular assessments and provide detailed, constructive feedback to drive progress
Monitor student data to identify under performance and implement effective interventions
Prepare students for external examinations, including technique workshops and mock grading
Collaborate with the Social Science department to share best practices and resources
Maintain an inclusive classroom environment that encourages debate and critical thinking
Engage with parents and guardians through reports and consultation evenings
Stay updated on psychological research to ensure curriculum content remains contemporary
Contribute to the UCAS process, providing references and guidance for aspiring Psychology undergraduates
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Strong knowledge of A-Level specifications (AQA/OCR/Edexcel)
Eligibility to work in the UK
