Job Description:

We are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to support our partnered school in the Fishponds area. The children have a range of disabilities, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, Autism, and Complex Needs. Affinity Workforce collaborates with five of their settings: Infants, Juniors, Secondary, Sixth Form, and a Behavioural setting. These settings span across Barton Hill and Fishponds. We are looking for individuals to work 1:1, 2:1 or in small group settings to provide the essential support and care that these children need during a crucial part of their social development.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support children with a range of disabilities, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, Autism, and Complex Needs
  • Work 1:1, 2:1 or in small group settings
  • Provide essential support and care during a crucial part of the children's social development
  • Provide a unique and comfortable learning environment for the individual
  • Promote learning socially and developing relationships with the individual’s peers
  • Be comfortable with personal care
  • Have a bright bubbly personality to interact with the pupils

Requirements:

  • Have experience in a similar background (desirable)
  • Have experience with family or friends with disabilities such as Autism (desirable)
  • Show resilience and confidence in working with challenging behaviour
  • Be able to work 1:1 or 2:1 with some students, providing them the time and support they need to learn
  • Demonstrate strong behavioural management skills
  • Have a strong willingness to learn and expand their skillset within this sector
  • Be energetic and enthusiastic with a commitment to inclusion
  • Be proactive and adaptable
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service is desirable
