Job Responsibility:
Teach a variety of psychology courses, primarily on-campus
Maintains regular office hours
Provides academic advising
Attends regularly scheduled Department, Division, and College meetings
Participates in College Governance Committees, and other committees, task forces, sub-committees, and other activities as requested
Assists in curriculum development and assessment of student learning outcomes
Integrates computer technology into coursework, as appropriate
Participates in enrollment and retention efforts, as appropriate
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Psychology or Child/Human Development
Experience and interest in teaching introductory level psychology courses
Well-qualified and prepared to teach courses in developmental psychology (i.e., Child Psychology, Adolescent Psychology, and/or Human Development)
Teaching experience at the college level
Demonstrated ability and knowledge of varied pedagogical strategies
Ability to integrate technology into instruction
Willingness to teach courses in a variety of modalities (e.g., on-campus, online)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Commitment to and understanding of the community college mission
Commitment to teaching a student body diverse in abilities, age, ethnicity, race, gender identity, and sexual orientation
Demonstrated proficiency in inclusive pedagogy
Nice to have:
Post-Masters credits or doctoral degree in Psychology
Specialization in developmental psychology
Experience and interest in teaching introductory level psychology courses
Demonstrated proficiency in community college teaching
Experience teaching individuals from diverse backgrounds
