The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Division of Psychology, is seeking a Pain Psychologist to serve individuals on our interdisciplinary pain team (e.g., psychiatry, anesthesiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), neurology, neurosurgery, and orthopedic surgery). The selected individual will join the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Clinical Assistant Professor level joining our 26-member Psychology Division.
Job Responsibility:
Provide assessment, treatment, and psychoeducation to outpatients with pain disorders in the Spine Center Pain Program
Participate in interdisciplinary team-based care within the clinic, including the Psychological Evaluations for Medical Interventions (PEMI) team
Participate in the professional education of psychology interns in our APA approved program, practicum students, and postdoctoral fellows, as well as medical fellows, residents and students
Faculty are encouraged to engage in many of the available opportunities to collaborate with faculty, within and outside, the University of Kansas Medical Center on scholarly activities
Requirements:
Doctorate Degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from an APA or CPA accredited doctoral program (with an APA approved clinical internship)
One-year relevant post-doctoral experience in pain psychology, health psychology, or rehabilitation psychology
Must be fully licensed or licensable in the State of Kansas (primary) and Missouri by the time of the appointment
Nice to have:
Strong preference will be given to those applicants with experience working in a pain management program and with medical and/or chronic physical illness populations
