The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Psychologist 2 for the Shapiro Center located in Kankakee, Illinois to provide intensive psychotherapy and in-depth counseling to individuals living at the Shapiro Center.
Job Responsibility:
Provide intensive psychotherapy and in-depth counseling to individuals living at the Shapiro Center
Develop and execute treatment plans
Document treatment
Serve as a member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team
Serve as a resource to less experienced Psychologists
Score and interpret both objective and projective psychological evaluations for assigned caseload
Complete psychological assessment upon an individual’s admission to the Shapiro Center and every five (5) years thereafter unless more frequent assessments are clinically indicated
Complete required reports, schedules, forms and correspondence in a timely manner and by the established due dates
Provide training and instruction to direct care and professional staff with emphasis on behavioral modification and skill development
Requirements:
Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to a doctoral degree in psychology from a recognized college or university supplemented by one (1) year of professional experience in psychology
For candidates not possessing these qualifications, a master’s degree in psychology from a recognized college or university is a minimum requirement
If the minimum educational requirement is met, four (4) years’ qualifying professional psychology experience may be substituted for the doctoral degree in psychology and one (1) years’ experience
Ability to physically restrain individuals as medically necessary to prevent injury to individual or others
Ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays
Ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers
Ability to travel in the performance of job duties
Ability to pass the IDHS background check
Ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law
