Reporting to the Coordinator and working as part of an interdisciplinary team, provides group or individual therapy in inpatient, emergency and other Mental Health, adult and community programs using a variety of modalities and in accordance with professional standards and clinical policies and practices. The psychologist will take a lead role to provide specialized psychotherapy services specific to an assigned service area.

Requirements:
Ph.D. in Clinical or Counselling Psychology
Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Psychologist
Minimum of five (5) years of recent related experience working with adult clientele in mental health and addictions facility or related field
Experience with short-term treatment and group psychotherapy work
Specific expertise and experience with treatment in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is essential
Valid BC Driver's license
Knowledge of psychiatric disorders, Legislative Acts and Mental Health & Addictions policy
Ability to plan and organize workload and establish priorities
Ability to exercise sound judgment, decision-making and problem solving
Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
Knowledge of community dynamics, agencies and resources
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
Ability to operate related equipment
Knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention
Ability to deal effectively with wide range of community and facility contacts
Ability to respect client's rights, values and preferences including multi-cultural issues
Knowledge of the interactions between addictions and mental disorders
Nice to have:
Knowledge of and experience with treatment specific to crisis stabilization, urgent response and Borderline Personality Disorder, such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, will be an important asset
