Job Description
Since 2009 NHS North East Lincolnshire Talking Therapies service has provided low and high intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, couples psychotherapy, Counselling for Depression and Interpersonal Therapy. The clinical team consists of High Intensity Therapists, Counsellors, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Interpersonal Therapists and Employment Advisors. We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and dedicated individual qualified as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner/Children and Young Peoples Practitioner or newly qualified. Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners are trained to deliver low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to people with mild to moderate mental health problems. Please note the earliest start date for this position is 2nd November 2026.
Job Responsibility
Assessing and treating people with common mental health problems and supporting them in the self management of their recovery
Deliver low intensity CBT interventions/treatment in a range of settings - including groups, individually face to face and remote
Requirements
Post Graduate Certificate Primary Care Mental Health (PWP or CYP)
Psychology or other health related undergraduate degree
Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and it may present in Primary Care
Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients
Computer literate
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills
Evidence of working with people who have suffered with a mental health problem
Demonstrates high standards in written communication
Able to write clear reports and letters
Registered with BABCP or BACP
High level of enthusiasm and motivation
Advanced communication skills
Ability to work within a team and foster good working relationships
Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively
Ability to work under pressure
Regard for others and respect for individual rights of autonomy and confidentiality
Ability to be self reflective, whilst working with service users, in own personal and professional development and in supervision
Nice to have
Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health
Use of clinical recoding systems including Systmone
Received training (either formal of through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice
Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems
Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
