Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a person to join our team for a 10-month period to cover a fixed term contract, at the Regional Department of Psychotherapy in the Centre for Specialist Psychological Therapies. We are looking for an experienced IPT clinician to work closely alongside our highly skilled and innovative IPT clinicians. The post is advertised at 0.7 WTE, however there is flexibility within this and we would consider applications from candidates wishing to work less hours.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide specialist assessment, consultation and individual therapy to adult service users with complex mental health
  • Supervision of IPT trainees
  • Contribute to service evaluation and development

Requirements:

  • An Honours Degree in Psychology recognised for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society, or RMN, or equivalent degree level qualification in mental health
  • Post-graduate qualifications in psychological assessment and psychological therapy (e.g. Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, Postgraduate diploma in CBT, IAPT High Intensity CBT diploma)
  • HCPC registered practitioner psychologist or equivalent e.g. BABCP registered CBT practitioner
  • Member of an appropriate professional body
  • IPT Practitioner and Supervisor Registered with IPT-UK
  • Specialist model specific psychological assessment, formulation and intervention skills
  • Skilled and competent in at least two evidence based psychological therapies appropriate to the pathway
  • Specialist model specific clinical supervision skills
  • Experience in psychological therapy in the field of adult mental health, including assessment, formulation and interventions, drawing on a evidence based psychological models and knowledge, and including work with service users with mild, moderate, severe and enduring mental health problems, including psychosis and/or personality disorder
  • Experience of model-specific psychological assessment of clients across a wide range of care settings, and collaborative work with other professional groups, e.g. medical, nursing, social work
  • Applicants must have current UK professional registration
