As a Provider Contracting Specialist, you support the strength and sustainability of Cigna's healthcare provider network by managing complex contracting activities and negotiations. You operate with a high degree of autonomy in a fast‑paced, evolving environment where priorities may shift, while consistently following work through to completion. Your work directly impacts provider relationships, financial outcomes, and the overall provider experience across the assigned region.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead complex provider contracting assignments and negotiations that support access, affordability, and compliance across the network
  • Analyze, model, and project the financial impact of provider agreements and alternative contract structures to inform sound decision making
  • Partner closely with the Provider Relations team to support a smooth and consistent provider journey
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage individual provider agreements with healthcare providers and third‑party administrators
  • Ensure accurate administration and ongoing management of contracts, maintaining alignment with contracting guidelines and policies
  • Monitor contract performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement using data‑driven insights
  • Contribute to process improvements, contracting models, and knowledge sharing, while supporting and guiding junior team members

Requirements:

  • A university degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in provider contracting, healthcare, insurance, or a closely related field
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and responding effectively to time‑sensitive work
  • Full professional proficiency in English and German
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% as business needs require
  • Clear and confident communication, both written and verbal
  • Strong negotiation and influencing capability
  • Sound professional judgment when working autonomously
  • Collaboration across functions and geographically dispersed teams
  • Comfort working in changing, fast‑moving environments
