BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a dynamic and results-driven individual to join our Luxembourg Technical Center as a Prototype Readiness Leader on a 6 month fixed-term contract (CDD). In this role, the Prototype Readiness Leader is responsible for the end‑to‑end readiness and execution of automotive electronic prototype builds, from design concept through customer shipment. The position serves as a key coordination role across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Logistics, and Program Management, ensuring that prototype activities are executed safely, on time, and in line with customer and program expectations. The Prototype Readiness Leader leads and supports the Prototype Build Operations Team, drives build preparation and execution, actively manages risks and issues, and communicates build status and readiness to internal stakeholders and customers throughout the prototype lifecycle.
Job Responsibility
Own end‑to‑end prototype launch execution from concept through customer delivery
Act as the single point of contact for prototype launch readiness and performance
Coordinate cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Program Management) aligned with prototype launch timing
Define, maintain, and control prototype launch plans, milestones, and timelines
Validate readiness of BOMs, materials, processes, capacity, and documentation
Monitor execution and drive issue resolution, risk mitigation, and escalation
Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety rules, and customer requirements
Participate in project and program meetings to receive latest information and communicate prototype launch status, risks, and mitigation actions
Coordinate lessons learned and drive continuous improvement for future prototype launches
Development of Prototype project timing incorporating all project milestones and constraints
Requirements
Engineering background (education or equivalent hands‑on engineering experience) in manufacturing, electronics, mechatronics, or a related technical field
2–3 years of experience in launch execution, prototype readiness, project coordination, or manufacturing operations, preferably in an industrial or automotive environment
Experience with electronic or electro‑mechanical products is a strong advantage
Proven ability to work cross‑functionally, coordinating Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program teams
Technical understanding, with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, schematics, and technical documentation
Demonstrated capability to manage multiple parallel activities, set priorities, and adapt quickly in a fast‑changing launch environment
Solid communication skills, with the confidence to participate in project meetings and clearly report status, risks, and mitigation actions
Structured, organized and proactive mindset with strong problem‑solving and escalation skills
Fluency in English is required
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project timing tools
