As a Prototype Fabricator, you will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of components for prototype vehicles, working under the direction of senior fabricators. You will interpret engineering designs, apply your welding and metal forming skills, and contribute to the creation of high-quality prototypes. Your commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship will be essential to your success in this role.
Job Responsibility:
Read, interpret, and build to blueprints, 3D CAD models, and engineering drawings
Utilize handheld power and pneumatic tools such as grinders, sanders, drills, impacts, saws
Utilize shop equipment such as waterjet, CNC press brake, manual mill, lathe, bandsaw, belt and disc grinders, hydraulic shear, hydraulic press, table saw, miter saw, etc
Prep materials and fabricate simple to complex components and assemblies
Maintain a clean and productive workplace
Execute assigned fabrication tasks independently, meeting quality standards and deadlines, while adhering to established processes and seeking guidance from senior fabricators as needed
Requirements:
3+ years MIG welding steel
3+ years TIG welding aluminum and steel
Proficient layout and measurement skills utilizing calipers, tape measures, protractors, and fixturing tools
Comfortable handling and working with materials such as steel, aluminum, stainless steel, carbon fiber, fiberglass, foams, plastics, etc
High attention to detail and organization
Ability to work well in a team environment as well as individually
Ability to lift 50-70lbs
Stand for long periods of time, bend or twist body, kneel, stoop, or crouch
