Horizon Services is looking for a skilled Protection Technician to join our technical team in Whakatāne or Palmerston North. This role suits someone experienced in protection systems, SCADA, and electrical network maintenance who’s ready for the next step — and the lifestyle perks of regional New Zealand.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintenance, testing, and installation of protection systems, SCADA, and comms networks
  • Fault diagnosis, system testing, relay installation, and field support across routine and complex projects
  • Provide technical support to engineering and operations teams
  • Contribute to system improvements
  • Participate in the 24/7 on-call roster

Requirements

  • NZ Registered Electrician with 2–5 years’ experience in protection systems, SCADA, PLCs, and communications networks
  • Solid knowledge of LV and HV network systems, protection design, and testing
  • Strong understanding of industry safety standards and ability to work independently
  • Manual NZ driver’s licence and commitment to safety
