Job Description:

Vivid Resourcing are working with a local authority in the North West that is seeking an experienced Locum Prosecutions Lawyer to support their legal services team on an interim basis. The authority is looking to appoint a skilled prosecutions lawyer to manage and present cases in court, supporting an increased workload within the prosecutions function. This role is focused on court advocacy, with attendance required in person.

Job Responsibility:

  • Managing a varied local authority prosecutions caseload
  • Conducting court advocacy
  • Preparing cases for hearing, including reviewing evidence and drafting documentation
  • Liaising with internal departments and external bodies as required
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister (England & Wales)
  • Proven experience handling prosecutions within a local authority or public sector setting
  • Confident and competent court advocate
  • Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision
  • Local authority prosecutions experience
  • Availability to attend court in person

Nice to have:

  • Experience across a broad range of regulatory or criminal prosecutions
  • Immediate or short-notice availability
