Job Description:

Aerovel (the Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program) is looking for a Propulsion Technician to join our Manufacturing Production Team based in Bingen, WA. The Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program offers one of the most sophisticated small tactical unmanned aerial systems (STUAS) with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). It can be used day or night by US and allied forces for a diverse range of intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) on land and at sea.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assemble and test production engines, fuel tanks, and ignition systems
  • Assemble, test and calibrate production rotor systems and related components
  • Perform propulsion systems development, fabrication, and assembly
  • Troubleshoot failure modes and provide photo documentation
  • Operate manual machine tools, rill, lathe, mill, dyno etc
  • Align, fit or assemble propulsion system component parts, using hand or power tools
  • Maintain part inventory and order replacement inventory as needed
  • Review of documentations including drawing, schematics, and Bill of materials
  • Assisting with manufacturing/ production / quality process improvement
  • Develop work instructions, test procedures and quality documentation

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience designing test setups related to mechanical systems
  • Understanding of electro-mechanical systems, such as engine test stands
  • Experience with data acquisition systems
  • Fundamental understanding of two stroke engines and fuel systems
  • Experience with tools and equipment related to engines
  • Ability to work in the US without current, or future, need for visa sponsorship/work authorization
