Job Description:

Under general supervision, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, relies on knowledge of commonly used concepts and practices in the preparation of high-quality, formal RFPs, customized proposals, presentations, and bids; assists in analyzing risk and financial data to underwrite new business opportunities for complex, high premium group cases; assists less experienced underwriters with preparing RFP spreadsheets and formal RFPS or complex proposals.

  • Assists in analyzing risk and financial data to underwrite new business opportunities for complex, high premium group cases
  • Assists less experienced underwriters with preparing RFP spreadsheets and formal RFPS or complex proposals
  • Assists with the improvement of processes and information for bid and proposal packages
  • Works to understand prospective client requirements
  • Researches and drafts responses to Request For Proposal (RFP) questions
  • Works with marketing and other divisions to enhance proposals responses to increase win rate
  • Communicates bid information to sales personnel and serves as point of contact for proposal related inquiries
  • Assists to increases percentage of bids won
  • Researches, compiles, writes, edits, and proofreads proposals, bids, and other written documents
  • Validates contractual and documentation packages for quality, accuracy, persuasiveness, and compliance with company practices
  • Integrates the various pieces of information gathered from all departments into a comprehensive presentation
  • Creates and modifies graphics to convey ideas, methodologies, and approaches
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the PW Language Library in conjunction with business partner SMEs and leadership
  • Organizes and maintains proposal and product data using print and electronic tools
  • Provides research, administration, and coordination for all forms of proposal research
  • Provides reports based on findings
  • Locates statistical data and interprets in various formats
  • Resolves problems and answers questions from sales professionals related to RFP opportunities
  • Works independently to analyze issues to determine best solutions
  • Sets priorities, plans and organizes workload, and meets established deadlines
  • Maintains consistent communication with the field force and WWHQ departments
  • As needed, assists with underwriting yearly renewals of group cases and/or reviews individual account underwriting cases
  • Performs other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree In a related field
  • 4 years of work-related experience
  • 2 years of proposal writing experience
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external partners
  • Strong proficiency in editing, proofreading, and word processing
  • Exemplary oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork/facilitating skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong Knowledge of Aflac’s products and systems, procedures, policy data, benefit plans, company terminology, and field force
  • Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office suite software
