As a Senior Proposal Manager, you will command strategic vision, orchestrate collaboration, and drive winning solutions that set Alight apart. You will guide cross-functional teams, ensure alignment with client needs, and craft compelling, customized content that elevate Alight’s competitive position. Your work will help drive proposal excellence through innovation, service excellence, and a commitment to quality.

Job Responsibility

  • Taking full ownership of the complete proposal lifecycle, from initial opportunity assessment to final submission of the most complex, must win proposals
  • Developing and maintain detailed project schedules and document all client requirements
  • Assigning, communicating, and tracking responsibilities across cross-functional teams
  • Ensuring every proposal strictly adheres to compliance standards and RFP instructions
  • Identifying risks early and implement solutions to maintain timelines and proposal quality
  • Shaping proposal strategy, messaging, and structure to highlight Alight’s value
  • Customizing standard content to align with each client’s goals and unique needs
  • Drafting or refining executive summaries and technical sections to ensure clarity and accuracy
  • Partnering with sales, legal, finance, product, and SMEs to gather and synthesize inputs
  • Collaborating with graphics teams to ensure visuals and messaging are aligned and impactful
  • Mentoring junior proposal team members as needed to support quality and consistency

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of proposal management experience, ideally in the benefits industry
  • Demonstrate ability to lead multiple high stakes projects simultaneously
  • Possess exceptional writing, editing, and persuasive communication skills
  • Be an influential leader, collaborator, and detail detail oriented under strict deadlines
  • Possess advanced proficiency with MS Office (SharePoint, Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and RFP/proposal software
  • Able to synthesize complex information and tailor messaging for diverse audiences
