As a Compliance Tax Analyst, you’ll support renditions, value notices, hearing prep, tax bill processing, and special projects while communicating with assessing and taxing authorities and maintaining accurate data across our systems. Job Responsibility:
Assist with data entry and document processing
Reviews client data files, and sends internal requests to retrieve missing data for return preparation, following up as needed
Prepares initial asset scrub and creates asset import for Sr. Consulting review
Communicates with multi-state assessing/taxing authorities, conducts online research, and verifies tax rates
Responds to internal and external queries timely
Tracks internal deadlines, generates reports, and procures missing assessments and tax bills as needed
Compares client location listing and system location listing for accuracy, notifying appropriate department or personnel of needed changes
Gathers and requests supporting documents for ARB packages
Shadows consulting staff in informal and formal discussions with assessing authorities as appropriate
Assist with rendition printing, ARB packages and other deliverables as needed
Reviews in-bound mail for critical deadlines, notifying consultants and management as appropriate, and handling any associated tasks in a timely manner
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or General Business from an accredited university or college) or 1-3 years of relevant property tax experience
Strong diligence, critical thinking, well organized, thorough, and accurate
Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as, analytical, comprehension, and problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload according to department or management needs and manage rapidly changing tasks
Computer proficiency and ability to maximize applications such as Microsoft Office
Must be able to work well within a team environment including volunteering to help others to accomplish individual and team goals
Support and take direction from multiple individuals and possess the ability to clarify the assignment, communicate any issues that conflict with the assignment or its deadline, and prioritize accordingly
Demonstrates dependability, integrity, and purposeful action in all aspects of the job
