Job Description:

The primary objective of the Property Services Assistant is to ensure that all Winnipeg terminal buildings and property are well maintained. This will include establishing that all necessary repairs are made in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Property Services Assistant will be lifting, pulling and managing equipment and tools. They must come prepared to work in all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the Supervisor in completing preventative maintenance tasks, including: inspecting overhead doors, water heaters, gates, HVAC units, and monitoring consumption levels
  • Perform yard maintenance such as: replacing extension cords and plugs
  • and operating skid steer/loader to maintain yard conditions
  • Carry out office maintenance tasks, including: painting, replacing ceiling tiles, and repairing or replacing desks and chairs
  • Complete outdoor maintenance (grass cutting, weeding, and tree maintenance)
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and order replacements as needed
  • Perform scheduled terminal maintenance (e.g., internal window cleaning, fridge cleanouts)
  • Ensure cleanliness of common areas, kitchen, and bathrooms
  • Transport supplies, equipment, and materials between Winnipeg terminal sites as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic building and systems repairs including but not limited to: minor plumbing fixes, light fixture replacement, drywall patching, and door/lock adjustments
  • Experience operating common maintenance tools and equipment (e.g., power drills, ladders, snow blowers, lawn mowers, trimmers)
  • Practical experience with commercial cleaning procedures, including floor care, restroom sanitation, waste removal, and safe chemical handling
  • Familiarity with janitorial equipment and machinery
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Word
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with vendors, contractors, and internal staff via email and in person
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment or materials up to 50lb
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow
  • Must hold a valid Class 5 Driver's license
