An established affordable housing organization in the Lehigh Valley is seeking a skilled Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of residential communities. This role ensures high-quality housing operations, strong tenant relations, and full compliance with federal and state program requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, resident-focused, and experienced in managing affordable housing programs such as HUD, PHFA, or LIHTC.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee all aspects of assigned residential properties from application through move‑out
Interview applicants, verify eligibility, and ensure adherence to affordable housing program guidelines (HUD, PHFA, LIHTC)
Maintain positive, professional landlord‑tenant relationships and effectively address resident concerns
Educate tenants on program rules, lease requirements, and community expectations
Maintain accurate, organized tenant files in accordance with agency and regulatory standards
Ensure timely annual recertifications and ongoing program compliance
Support compliance efforts tied to multiple funding or regulatory programs
Maintain occupancy levels at or above organizational benchmarks
Monitor tenant ledgers and take appropriate steps for timely rent collection
Track vacancies, unit readiness, and turnover timelines
submit routine vacancy updates to leadership
Coordinate unit turnovers and collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure timely repairs and upkeep
Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and habitability
Provide oversight to maintenance personnel or clerical staff when assigned
Meet with contractors, inspectors, or municipal officials as needed
Travel between multiple property locations within the region
Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Property Management, Public Administration, or a related field preferred
6+ years of experience in residential property management, affordable housing, or housing program administration
Knowledge of HUD, PHFA, LIHTC, or similar affordable housing compliance programs
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage emergency situations with professionalism and sound judgment
Proficiency in property management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
