Job Description

Build Relationships. Grow a Portfolio. Shape a Business. Auckland Wide | Flexible Role | Property Management + Business Development. We’re Keen on Rentals, a boutique property management firm based in Auckland CBD. Our business has grown through referrals, trust, and long-term relationships. We’re not about volume or quick wins, we focus on doing things well, looking after people, and building connections that last. Now, we’re ready for our next stage of growth, and we’re looking for someone who can help us both care for an existing portfolio and grow a new one. The Role: This is a hybrid position combining Property Management and Business Development — perfect for someone who enjoys both relationship management and building new opportunities. You’ll be responsible for managing a residential portfolio across Auckland, while also taking a proactive approach to growing our client base, particularly within the professional investor space. This is a new and evolving role within our business, so you’ll have the opportunity to help shape how we grow, working closely with the Owner and a supportive, experienced team.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage end-to-end residential property portfolios
  • Conduct viewings, tenant vetting, inspections, and tenancy renewals
  • Oversee maintenance coordination and compliance requirements
  • Manage rent, arrears, and bond processes
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with landlords, tenants, and trades
  • Identify and engage new landlords, investors, and development opportunities
  • Proactively generate new business through networking, referrals, and outreach
  • Attend industry events and build referral partnerships
  • Guide new clients through onboarding and set them up for long-term success
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure a seamless client experience

Requirements

  • Recent experience in property management in NZ
  • Confidence in sales activity, including cold outreach and networking
  • Strong knowledge of the Auckland residential rental market, ideally investor-focused
  • Excellent communication skills — professional, clear, and genuine
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Confidence using CRM/property management systems and tech tools
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently
  • Values long-term relationships over quick transactions
  • Takes pride in doing things properly
  • Wants to grow with a business, not just work in one
  • Brings a calm, professional, and trustworthy presence

What we offer

  • Be part of a boutique agency with a strong reputation and loyal client base
  • Play a key role in shaping the future growth of the business
  • Enjoy flexibility — a mix of office, remote, and field-based work
  • Work alongside a supportive, down-to-earth team
  • Autonomy and ownership of your portfolio and pipeline
  • Base salary + KiwiSaver
  • Commission structure
  • Company vehicle or allowance (for the right candidate)
  • Genuine work-life balance and long-term career opportunity
