We are looking for a success-driven and compassionate detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Property Front Office Receptionist in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This contract-to-permanent position plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for residents transitioning from homelessness in a non-profit affordable housing community. The ideal candidate will excel in providing front-line assistance, fostering community engagement, and maintaining safe and organized shared spaces. Must be available to work nights and weekends.
Job Responsibility:
Greet residents and guests warmly, providing assistance and guidance as needed
Support residents with daily needs such as receiving packages, coordinating transportation, and navigating communal spaces
Build positive relationships with residents to foster a sense of belonging and respect within the community
Facilitate informal check-ins with residents to identify support needs and relay information to the appropriate teams
Encourage resident participation in community events and activities to promote engagement and social connections
Monitor building access points to ensure controlled entry and maintain a secure environment
Address safety concerns calmly, mediate conflicts, and assist with implementing safety protocols such as fire drills
Maintain cleanliness and organization in shared spaces, including courtyards and parking areas
Prepare rooms for new residents and report maintenance issues for prompt resolution
Model respectful and collaborative behavior to reinforce community values
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Previous experience in roles such as hospitality, concierge services, or resident support is preferred
Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Valid driver's license is required if applicable
First Aid and safety certification must be obtained within 180 days of starting employment
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and work independently
Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and perform tasks requiring prolonged standing or walking
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
