Job Description:

Performs with management and oversight from the Department’s Procurement Manager, work of considerable difficulty to oversee the University property control functions including central receiving of ETF equipment and delivery of same to campus users. Oversees surplus property through redistribution, sale or disposal of assets in accordance with state and University policy.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of automated inventory and control systems
  • Considerable knowledge, skills and abilities in the application and use of Microsoft Office Software Programs to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Considerable knowledge of asset receiving and distribution concepts for a public entity
  • Considerable knowledge of the functions and concepts of property control and inventory practices
  • Considerable knowledge and administrative management skills in the application of sound business practices as they relate to asset receiving and material handling in a decentralized environment
  • Working knowledge of a public e-surplus systems that include staging, amending, awarding, and payment components associated with same
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated skill in working independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and direct work plans for and supervise the performance of subordinate staff
  • Ability to identify the market value of surplus assets
  • Certified Forklift Operator
  • Considerable experience supervisory level, with progressive experience related to all aspects asset and inventory control, including identification and implementation of policies and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness of related programs
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop appropriate reports and documents
  • High school graduate or the equivalent with subsequent training in business or material/inventory control functions
  • Technical computer hardware and software knowledge including loading and running software applications
  • Working knowledge of the ITS current Hardware Disposal Procedures and ITS Asset Control Standards Disposal of Data Procedures
  • Working knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia policies and procedures for control and disposal of surplus property
