We are looking for an experienced Property Contract Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Lee's Summit, Missouri. This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in property management accounting and a solid understanding of financial systems and processes. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to critical accounting functions within the asset management industry.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions
  • Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining comprehensive records for auditing purposes
  • Reconcile bank accounts and monitor discrepancies to ensure proper alignment with company financial statements
  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and compliant with accounting standards
  • Utilize Yardi property management software to record financial data and generate reports
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze financial trends and support decision-making processes
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all accounting activities
  • Create and manage advanced Excel spreadsheets using formulas and VBA to streamline reporting and analysis
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing reconciliations and financial summaries
  • Provide insights and recommendations for improving accounting workflows and processes

Requirements

  • Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting
  • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing bank reconciliations
  • In-depth knowledge of Yardi property management software
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and VBA
  • Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Familiarity with asset management accounting practices and principles
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively
