Property & Casualty Underwriter

• Underwriting, quoting and converting new P&C package business in the lower middle-market segment, in-line with targets and the overall business plan
• Regular engagement with our producers and BDMs to develop and execute on a pipeline of opportunities
• Effective trading behaviours, negotiation and engagement to successfully close new opportunities
• Consistently providing a high level of underwriting service and speed of response to our brokers
• Collaborating with sales and distribution, other lines of business, risk engineering, operations and underwriting management
• Keeping accurate underwriting records and data
• Representing and promoting our client to brokers and building strong relationships with key producers

• Solid experience in property and casualty underwriting environment
• A track record and reputation as a dynamic new business development underwriter
• Knowledge and experience in the upper SME / lower middle-market insurance segment
• Results driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative
• Ability to adjust to shifting priorities and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication
• Commitment to a high level of underwriting service and speed of response
• A-Levels or higher, with a degree or ACII (or progress towards these) preferred but not essential
