Job Responsibility
Executing the underwriting strategy to expand market share for commercial property and casualty products across Singapore and the regional market
Handling the technical evaluation of higher-complexity new and renewal accounts in alignment with corporate underwriting standards and delegated authority limits
Balancing technical portfolio management with structured intermediary engagement to ensure profitable business growth
Evaluating, pricing, and underwriting complex new and renewal Property & Casualty risks while adhering to underwriting guidelines and delegated authority levels
Conducting territory and distribution channel analyses to support enhanced product development, competitive conversions, and market penetration strategies
Reviewing and enhancing portfolio pricing models, conducting technical portfolio remediation for underperforming segments, and analyzing monthly loss ratios
Managing and deepening strategic relationships with brokers, agents, and financial advisors to identify client coverage needs and provide tailored risk solutions
Ensuring rigorous adherence to operational policies, delegated authority limits, regulatory compliance requirements, and know-your-customer screening practices
Training and guiding junior staff members to support professional growth and conducting peer underwriting audits as required
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Insurance, or a Degree/Diploma in Business or Engineering supplemented with a Commercial General Insurance (CGI) certification, ACII, or ANZIIF accreditation
3-5 years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance underwriting, including direct intermediary engagement and technical underwriting
Comprehension of general insurance operations, risk assessment methodologies, policy wordings, and industry legislation relevant to the Property & Casualty sector
Competency in utilizing Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint, for portfolio reporting and data analysis
