We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Mid-Market Property & Casualty Underwriter to join our client’s growing commercial insurance team. This role focuses on underwriting performance, broker engagement, and improving technical and trading capability across the branch.
Job Responsibility:
Manage underwriting performance and financial outcomes for assigned accounts and brokers
Build and maintain strong broker relationships to drive business growth
Make informed, data-led underwriting decisions
Deliver profitable new business across key markets
Support the development of junior underwriters through coaching
Monitor account performance and take corrective actions as needed
Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency
Requirements:
Minimum two years’ experience in Property & Casualty commercial underwriting, with strong trading skills and proven risk assessment ability
In-depth understanding of insurance market dynamics and broker/insurer relationships
Skilled in making sound underwriting decisions across varied and complex risks
Experience mentoring or coaching team members to support their development
Dip CII qualification, or actively working towards it is advantageous
