Job Description:

This role involves overseeing the leasing and application process for subsidized housing programs, ensuring compliance with housing regulations, and maintaining positive relationships with tenants and housing authorities. As part of a non-profit organization, you will play a key role in supporting our mission to provide affordable housing opportunities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist prospective tenants through the application and leasing process for Section 8 and other subsidized housing programs
  • Verify applicant eligibility by reviewing income, household size, and required documentation
  • Coordinate unit inspections with representatives from local housing authorities
  • Draft, review, and finalize lease agreements in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
  • Maintain organized and accurate resident files to ensure readiness for compliance audits
  • Act as a liaison between tenants, property management, and housing authorities to address concerns and facilitate communication
  • Ensure timely submission of necessary documents, including recertifications and interim updates
  • Monitor unit availability, occupancy levels, and rent rates to meet leasing objectives
  • Respond to tenant inquiries with professionalism and empathy, addressing their concerns effectively
  • Manage waiting lists and follow up on leads while adhering to fair housing laws

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in accounting systems such as ADP, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and other financial software
  • Experience with CRM tools and property management systems
  • Solid understanding of lease administration, agreements, and contracts
  • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and budget processes
  • Familiarity with commercial property management practices and property claims
  • Strong communication skills to interact with tenants, housing authorities, and management teams
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain compliance documentation and resident records
  • Ability to handle tenant concerns with empathy and professionalism
