Property Accounting Manager Job at Robert Half (Hopkinton)

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Property Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations for a real estate portfolio in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. This role blends hands-on accounting leadership with audit coordination, financial reporting, and operational support across multiple properties. The ideal candidate will bring strong property accounting expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage deadlines across month-end, annual reporting, and cross-functional administrative processes.

Job Responsibility

Oversee daily cash activity and monitor liquidity across multiple accounts to support timely funding decisions and operating needs
Direct the year-end audit cycle by organizing schedules, preparing supporting records, and serving as the primary point of contact for external audit and accounting partners
Prepare completed audited statements for annual submission to the appropriate organization for designated properties
Produce monthly financial packages, including statement preparation, account analysis, and explanations of budget-to-actual variances
Manage the full close process each month by recording accruals, posting journal entries, reclassifying transactions, and completing balance sheet reconciliations
Support planning activities through budget preparation, forecasting updates, and financial analysis for ownership and management review
Reconcile bank and investment accounts on a recurring monthly basis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
Coordinate annual insurance renewals with ownership and assist with related documentation and follow-up requirements
Act as the internal contact for employee-related administrative matters by partnering with an external HR provider and supporting payroll and benefits processes
Maintain tax and compliance filings for all entities, oversee annual common area maintenance reconciliations and tenant billings, and contribute to accounting system conversion efforts when needed

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of experience in real estate accounting (other industry multi entity will work)
Experience in multi entity accounting (10 P&Ls)
Experience with Skyline Software a plus
Excel experience required
Any experience in HR a plus (this role acts as the liaison with the outsourced HR company)
Clean resume with limited movement
