A Property Accountant oversees the financial performance of assigned real estate properties by maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. They work closely with property managers, asset managers, and leadership to support operational and investment decisions.
Job Responsibility
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely
Process invoices, vendor payments, tenant billings, and collections
monitor aging reports
Assist in preparing annual budgets, reforecasts, and variance analyses
Perform Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations and prepare tenant billings
Ensure lease terms are accurately reflected in accounting systems
review rent rolls and lease abstracts
Complete monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations
