We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this role, you will oversee financial operations for assigned properties, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience in property management accounting.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Perform general ledger maintenance, including posting journal entries and reconciling accounts
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including tenant billing, rent collections, and vendor payments
Reconcile bank accounts and validate cash balances to maintain financial accuracy
Assist in developing budgets, forecasts, and conducting variance analysis to evaluate property performance
Maintain tenant ledgers, ensuring accurate billing, adjustments, and collections
Support month-end and year-end close processes to meet reporting deadlines
Collaborate with property managers to address financial discrepancies and provide actionable insights
Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and industry standards
Assist with audits by preparing and providing necessary financial documentation
Requirements:
Proven experience in property accounting or a related field
Proficiency in general ledger accounting, accrual accounting, and month-end close processes
Strong knowledge of accounting software, with experience in Oracle preferred
Familiarity with ASC 842 lease accounting standards and lease modifications
Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements and perform variance analysis
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly preferred
