Property Accountant

• Oversee accounting operations for a portfolio of 12 residential properties, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting
• Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice management and tenant payment tracking
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy across all accounts
• Prepare and analyze financial statements for each property, ensuring compliance with standard accounting practices
• Utilize and maintain the chart of accounts to categorize financial transactions effectively
• Collaborate with the existing accounting team and leverage detailed documentation for seamless onboarding and process adherence
• Manage month-end close procedures, ensuring all accruals and adjustments are accurately recorded
• Utilize Excel for standard spreadsheets related to reconciliations and financial tracking
• Provide support during the transition to AppFolio software, as needed

• Proven experience as a full-charge accountant, preferably in property management
• Strong knowledge of property accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accrual accounting and general ledger management
• Familiarity with AppFolio software is highly desirable
• Advanced understanding of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
• Competence in month-end close procedures and financial statement preparation
• Intermediate experience with Excel, including standard spreadsheet functions
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team
