A growing real estate organization is seeking a Property Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial and residential properties. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys full-cycle property accounting, month-end close responsibilities, and collaborating with operations and management teams.
Job Responsibility:
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies
Prepare and post monthly and quarterly journal entries, accruals, and standard entries (prepaids, depreciation, amortization, loan activity, management fees, interest accruals)
Produce monthly financial packages including P&L, budget vs. actual reporting, AR/AP summaries, and related schedules
Complete variance analysis comparing results to budget and prior periods
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax filings
Support quarterly and annual corporate close activities and assist with audit preparation
Assist with annual CAM, tax, and insurance reconciliations for commercial tenants
Provide general accounting support and assist leadership with ad hoc financial projects
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
3–5 years of accounting experience
real estate/property accounting preferred
Experience with Sage 300 and Office Connector a plus
Sales tax filing experience preferred
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Analytical mindset with the ability to explain financial variances
