This role is instrumental in overseeing the financial operations of a hotel or resort, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting functions. The ideal candidate is detail-driven, highly organized, and experienced in property accounting.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee the full accounts payable and receivable cycle, including preparing analyses, processing payments, and reconciling discrepancies
Maintain and manage the fixed asset ledger while preparing accurate financial statements in compliance with accounting standards
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and errors are addressed
Monitor compliance with local and state tax regulations, implementing effective internal controls to safeguard assets and improve processes
Collaborate on budgeting efforts, auditing activities, and special financial projects as required
Process payroll efficiently while adhering to organizational policies and timelines
Conduct thorough account reconciliations and support error resolution to ensure financial accuracy
Analyze financial procedures and recommend improvements to optimize operations
Generate detailed reports to support decision-making and maintain transparency in financial matters
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a focus on accounting
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within property management or hospitality
Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, budgeting, and cost control practices
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to manage financial statements, fixed assets, and payroll processes
Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
