We are actively partnering with real estate, property management, and real estate investment firms across Central New Jersey that are continuously seeking Property Accountants to support their growing portfolios for contract and contract to hire opportunities. These opportunities range from supporting commercial, residential, and mixed-use portfolios and are available on an ongoing basis.
Job Responsibility:
Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned property portfolio(s)
Prepare and review monthly financial statements for properties
Handle month-end close, including journal entries and accruals
Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
Track and analyze operating expenses, CAM reconciliations, and tenant activity
Work closely with property managers on budgeting and variance analysis
Assist with annual budgets and forecasts
Support year-end audit and tax preparation processes
Maintain tenant ledgers and ensure accurate rent rolls
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2+ years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate or property management
Experience with property accounting software (Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or similar) preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines simultaneously
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
