Job Description

We are looking for a meticulous Proofreader to support short-term remote assignments for a services organization based in Burlingame, California. This is a Contract position offering project-based work of approximately three days per assignment, starting in early . In this role, you will review written materials in the Norwegian language to improve accuracy, readability, and consistency while following client standards and deadlines.

Job Responsibility

  • Review multilingual documents for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and layout issues before final delivery
  • Refine written content to ensure clarity, consistency, and appropriate usage for the target local language
  • Compare materials against project instructions and quality expectations to preserve accuracy throughout each assignment
  • Complete proofreading tasks within established turnaround times while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Share progress updates, raise questions quickly, and communicate effectively with the project team during active assignments
  • Handle confidential or sensitive information responsibly and follow all data privacy expectations

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in proofreading, proofing, or document review
  • Business-level fluency in Norwegian
  • Strong command of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and language conventions in the supported language
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage short project deadlines effectively
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and other common digital document tools
  • Demonstrated accuracy, organization, and discretion when working with sensitive content
