Job Description:

Location: Central Preston Salary: £13.00phr Shift pattern: 1 week 8am till 16.00pm/2 week 14.00-22.00 We're seeking a compassionate and driven Project Worker to support young adults aged 16-24years who have experienced homelessness. You'll help them build independence, develop practical life skills, and move into stable housing.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide person-centred support through regular keywork sessions and tailored support plans
  • Help young people access education, training, employment, and health services
  • Promote life skills such as budgeting, cooking, and tenancy management
  • Work collaboratively with local authorities and partner agencies to ensure holistic support
  • Maintain accurate case notes and contribute to safeguarding practices
  • Provide Emotional support to help young people

Requirements:

  • Experience working with vulnerable young people, ideally within housing or homelessness services
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
  • Confident communicator with empathy, resilience, and good organisational skills
  • Knowledge of housing options and benefits systems is an advantage

  • Working within a 24-7 staffed 16 bed Ofsted registered supported housing project for young women aged 16-21
  • Working within 40 bedspaces of accommodation across 10 properties, for young people aged 18-21 with visiting support
  • Supporting children and young people to find self-worth and the belief that they deserve a better future
  • Supporting safe, positive transitions including, where relevant, from care into more independent accommodation, and from childhood to adulthood
  • Providing holistic support to gain essential life skills, achieve health outcomes, to realise and achieve their aspirations, and reach their full potential
